Epoxies first appeared in 1942 when epoxy resins were discovered. Two part epoxies were introduced in 1947 and earned a reputation for having excellent durability, as well as high chemical and corrosion resistance. Epoxies are especially effective in corrosive environments in that they act as a barrier and filter of ions contained in corrosion cells.

The need to cure two part epoxies at temperatures below 40F was solved in the 1970’s with the advent of amine cure agents. This remained the dominant technology until the late 1990’s when 100% solid epoxies cured with innovative cycloaliphatic amines entered the marketplace.

When properly formulated these new epoxies exhibited excellent resistance to highly aggressive petro-chemicals, solvents, fatty acids, as well as hydrochloric and concentrated sulphuric acids.

Proprietary curative agents for these new epoxies can impart a balance between rapid cure and crosslink density allowing the formulation of high performance environmentally friendly coatings

Epoxy Fact Sheet

ANP's solventless 100% epoxy coatings offer the following advantages over the other coatings

* "0" VOC's

* absence of flammable or combustible solutions

* high build capability

* superior chemical and corrosion resistance

* ease of application

* cost effective

Although the cost per gallon of ANP's coatings may be higher than other coatings the overall applied cost of these coatings is lowered by the following factors:

* surface tolerant and self priming features allow single-coat application

* less coating losses due to over spray

* no coating volume losses due to solvent or water evaporation

* no special VOC containment equipment required

* high-build characteristics reduce labor

* no special spray or heating equipment needed
